so i bought a firefish yesterday, and when i 1st put it in the tank it was swimmin around all active and stuff, but now its hiding and wont come out..i can see it and it's alive but im wondering how long it will tank for it to get used to the tank and come out.
tank is 10 gallons, 9 months old and there are 2 other fish(true percula clownfish and green chromis.) neither of the fish r aggressive towards the firefish.

My purple firefish is shy. He mainly hides unless it is feeding time. He then will pop out to get food and pretty much back. At times he will come out and just stay in his area. I am sure yours will do the same.

I've heard they can be shy too. I don't think the tank is overstocked I've seen a lot of 10G reefs with 3 fish in them

Firefish like to hide a lot. I "lost" mine for 5 days once, and then all of a sudden he was back. Stayd out during the day for 2 weeks and disappeared again. Unfortunately this time he has been gone for a month so....

I have two of them, I think...Haven't seen one in three days, but he likes to hide. Mine will scurry into the tunnels made by the engineering gobies when startled. They tend to only venture out when it is feeding time, or they feel it should be feeding time. Ours took about 4-5 days to get used to the tank.

Not sure what the third fish you used to have in there was, but firefish are very shy and easily intimidated. If your clown fish is territorial at all, it could easily intimidate the firefish enough to stay hidden.

no its not a very aggressive clownfish, the chromis likes tp hangout with watever fish it can find since its living singly. so any time the firefish is out the chromis will go over there and like swim around the firefish and that could scare it. but ive been outa town for a week while my mom takes care of my tanks, and i wont be back for another days but she says she sees him every once in awhil hiding in the rocks.
